What’s in a name?

Why the name Artissima?

1. ART is obvious.

2. “issimo/a” is an Italian superlative suffix, and it is one of the most common means of expressing emphasis in Italian– adding a qualifier of “extremely” or “remarkably” to an adjective. Given my experience in Italy and penchant for most things Italian, I added some Italian “zest” to the name.

3. There is a cool contemporary art fair in Torino with that title.

4. It’s juuuust fun to say.
