Beginner – Intermediate Level. We will be developing our understanding of value and practice rendering in graphite and charcoal. We will hone our skills of observation and create volume in space as we devise our compositions. We start out by rendering drawings in graphite while paying close attention to value and shape. We will base our designs on the world around us, including still life. We will also cover core concepts like perspective. There is a lot to learn in this class; it will either give you a great foundation of skills or it will reinforce and solidify your drawing and mark-making techniques and confidence.
